Consents TGA City Council

Since May we have seen a steady climb in consenting numbers averaging 36 per month to 46 per month. In October this figure spiked to 73 for new dwelling consents issued, this equates to an additional 20 million into the local economy through new builds alone. Assuming this is not a miss print we have not seen figures like this since the glory days of 2008. While this might appear as a blimp on the radar; growth with consenting numbers is on the incline for Tauranga.

Certified Builders Apprentices scoop Registered Master Builders Apprentice Awards

At Friday’s RMB Apprentice awards, Certified Builders apprentices took out first, second and third for the Bay.

Tom Story from Opotiki took first place, trained under the watchful eye of Simon Linton of SD Linton Building Limited. "Tom showed enthusiasm, precision, passion and innovation. His ability to relate to clients, fellow workers and sub-trades is evident in the detail and results of each job," judges said.

Richard Wilson’s apprentice Hayden White was awarded second place. From the company Multi Skilled Builders Limited they surely are living up to their name.

Third place went to David Beattie, trained under the watchful eye of Buster- Director of GAP Construction.
“It’s great to see the skills crafted over the years handed down by trade qualified business owners, building our Community of Craftsmen”.
