Health & Safety:
Yellow/Black Multi Boxes (THE CHEAP ONE) - One matter that is consistent with a number of sites is the use of the yellow/black Plug Boss Multi boxes.
These cheap units (about $23 but sometimes cheaper) are not acceptable on construction sites due to their design and manufacture. Unfortunately they were not tested before they hit the NZ market, when testing was done they were found not to be compliant to the Electrical Wiring Standards. They are suitable for home use only.
I have been led to believe in effect if an electrical fault does occur, the tools being used will be okay, just not the person holding onto it. Plug Boss do manufacture a compliant product (with a RCD protection) built in but it is about $70.
