Standards New Zealand has prepared a number of questions and answers (Qs and As) about the recently published NZS 3604:2011 Timber-framed buildings. We recently added some new Qs and As, which are available here.

The Qs and As provide background information on the latest edition of NZS 3604 and the limited technical review process that formed the basis of the update.

Our deepest prayers and thoughts with those affected during this terrible tragedy. The destruction and death toll of yesterday's 6.3 magnitude earthquake in Christchurch has many people wondering what they can do to help.

For those in Christchurch, Mayor Bob Parker asked those who are able to help those in their community, in particular elderly and disabled people.
